Critical hits

Post by Pikachu3828 »

This is just one of my own observations made whilst playing the Pokémon games, but I'm not entirely sure whether I'm noticing a pattern here or not. It seems to me that when I attack an opposing Pokémon with a super effective move there is a higher chance of getting a critical hit. I don't use anything that might up the chances of it like Dire Hit, Focus Energy or anything. Just plain vanilla battling. I would like to know if anyone else has noticed this. Is it true? Do super effective moves have any affect on the critical hit ratio, positive or negative? Or is it just coincidence?

That never really happened. I'd had lots of critial hits with not very effective hits. Yet the super effective thing w/ critial hit only happened a few times. I'd say it's completly random. Just like finding Lati@s.

I have also noticed this.

It's strange isn't it? One possibility is actually that the odds are the same but because crit + supereffective is very special we just pay more notice to it. Personally, however, I think it's a conspiricy...

Critical hits

Critical hit happens anytime these are some of them:

Battling Articuno: Zapdos used thunderbolt (super effective) and critical hit Articuno fainted.

Battling Latios: Wobuffet used psychic (not very effective) and critical hit

So critical hits can alter.

There is a I think and I know:

I know critical hits are random.

I think that critical hits are sort of like in a show. If a pokemon does a not very effective hit it goes angry and it hits with a powerful move the next turn. If a pokemon does a super effective hit it continues to use it.
