Cant go farther than...
I beat the cave to get on route 40 then when I press north twice it goes back to the page with the news.

That's only if you use Internet Explorer.
If you got Firefox You will discover that route 35 and route 36 is open.

It'll work regardless of the browser you have, it's a simple meta refresh, if battling and healing works then route 40 will work and take you to route 35/6
