I highly doubt that we will be able to because the G/S/C and R/S/FR/LG generation use completely different systems for a number of things (like configuring Pokémon stats and such) that made trade between G/S/C and R/S/FR/LG impossible; with P/D expanding on this even further (presumably) trading between them seems even more hopelessSecreyes wrote:I hope you can Trade with G/S!!!

iv heard that if you try to fish you use the touch screen to cast for example and that there will be bike minigames. plus i heard that it may not be a full rpg. instead it may have it where you use the touch screen to move pokemon and you select and atack with pad ,then i think L or R to attack or A. that would be cool though because it would actual be more like a battle. (one last thing) iv also heard that there is going to be a possesing pokemon. rumour and many officials are saying that is something will happen with missingno that will actually not mess up data or atleast not unless used for that purpose.
heres a demonstration of grass beating fire pokemon.
uses mud slap
tries using fire blast but gets hit by mud slap and faints
wins

Personally, in the field I think that the touch (bottom screen) will be a full-screen menu, with a square, possibly bottom right, for moving your character. In battle, I think it'd be used for selecting moves, getting an in-depth description of them. I think the top screen will be moved for displaying the battle in action and moving about in the field.
My hopes are that weather is utilised much more. I really got my hopes up in R/S and I'm hoping that it'll play a much bigger part. Aslo, day and night would be excellent, for example you can only catch a Lotad in say, morning rain, or seedot in afternoon sun...

One thing for sure, NO DAY OR NIGHT! I thought it was cool at first, but why does pokemon only appear at a specific time or day? I mean, what if you need that pokemon immediatly and you have to wait 24 hours just to get that pokemon? So 0/10 for day and night.

Personally I loved day and night, it gave the games some more depth and realism. It felt a bit more realistic, like finding ladybugs in the morning only and only finding owls at night. Then again, it could just be sprouting from my affection for G/S/C, but either way I was sort of disappointed they took it out of R/S/E

The Night/Day was (or is I guess, now that night & Day have been anounced for D/P) a great feature! Not only did it add realism in the sense that some pokémon are nocturnal, etc. but it adds a sense of life-almost like an MMO. In an MMO, the world seems more real because it isn't just a pocket universe that stops and starts at your will. The world spins, whether or not you're killing rats. With a sense of time (Such as in AC) and the possibility that the world can (and will) change without you personally intervening makes it seem that much more real.

An even more important D/P issue- cheating and wi-fi.
For a long time, many people have used gameshark or action replay to cheat in pokémon games. But what about the possibility of said people playing on wi-fi? Will Nintendo have security measures implimented to counter attemts for cheaters to play wi-fi? Is that even possible?
