The 8th Pokémon movie has been announced, apparently entitled, Mew And The Wave Guiding Hero. Is it just me, or are they going crazy with movies now? The first Pokémon movie was a massive success, despite the questionable quality of it all. However, it's never topped that since, and has instead declined. Why do they pursue in making a new movie every year or so, it seems? Japan only had the 7th movie released in summer last year. We haven't even had the 6th yet.
Speaking of which, the movie backlog used to be pretty clean, a Pokémon movie was released in each area in a fair amount of time. Now we (or, at least, Europe, I'm not entirely sure about North America) are two movies behind! It's just crazy.
I personally don't think Pokémon justifies 8 movies anyway, it's not that I don't like Pokémon or anything, but I haven't even seen from 4 onwards, because the stories between 1-3 were so similar it was just dull, "Ash is chosen hero and only he can save the world from the enemy". Your basic good versus evil story, it's so clichéd. Ash and co are the good guys and the bad guys are usually Team x and Pokémon y.
If they could come up with something original for once, I might consider watching it, but even at these early stages, it looks doubtful. Anyone else's thoughts?

As was previously mentioned, in the US, we have all 7 released, with the first having a large theatre release (and did fairly well, seeing as it was released at the height of Pokemon popularity here in the States). The second had high publicity, but, unfortunately, the rest just appear on the shelves with minimal publicity (maybe a commercial here and there on the Cartoon Network and Kids WB). I have only seen the first two thus far. I am sure I can see the rest through PikaBelleChu. XD

Doesn't sound too dissimilar to England, although despite not being up with the current anime affairs, I don't think we have all 7 movies out here. When (if) we do, however, they'll just be shoved onto DVD/VHS and sold in shops. I'm not even sure about an advert, the last advert I saw was for the one with Celebi in it.
