This here is a short prologue, which will then continue in Chapter 1.
Prologue: The Beginning
Mark twisted his MA5B Assault Rifle around, emptying out an empty cartridge and inserting a new one. With a jam of his silky hand,
the cartridge was in successfully, and the ammo counter, displayed up above the trigger, showed up as sixty clips, a full supply. He was standing outside of the loading bay, where Pelicans, Warthogs, tanks, and marines were loading up, preparing for the big onslaught that would come in a couple of minutes or so.
"All marines please report to their squads," A feminine voice announced over the intercom. Mark ran over to a station, where one Warthog and six marines were idling about.
As Mark approached the group, he made sure his cartridge was inserted correctly, his weapon was functioning, and that his gear was tightly fit.
"Bout time Mark, we were gettin' worried, heh," blurted out a marine, who had been standing across from Mark.
"Eh, whatever, Brandon," replied a friendly Mark.
Brandon was also carrying a MA5B Assault Rifle, that was, of course, identical to Mark's. He had shaved, brown hair (that you couldn't see of course due to the strapped-on leather helmet). Titanium plate was armoring his leather pants and bodyplate. Leather black shoes completed the outfit. His helmet had a small microphone reaching out from it to his mouth, and a green square piece jut out of it to about two inches from his right eye.
"Alright men, listen, and listen good," commanded one of the marines, obviously a sergeant, judging from his rough, harsh voice. This particular sergeant was wearing a ball cap, had a deep scar on the side of his left cheek, and had a rough textured face.
"My name is Sergeant Stacker of the UNSC, is that understood, men?"
"Yes, sir!" confirmed the group of five.
"Good. Now then, the enemy will most likely be penetrating the Pillar of Autumn's opens, they are numerous, so they will most likely be at around every corner you turn. Shoot first, ask questions later is the way around here. You wait or hesitate, you're dead. Be on alert at all times. IS THAT UNDERSTOOD, MEN?"
"Yes SIR!" Responded again the group.
"Good, Mark, Aims(Brandon), and Erenth(Virgil), you three stick to your own ways, and I trust you to stay alive. Me, Nat(Nathan), and Kirk(Dale) shall take the Warthog and find an escape pod. When we find one, we will alert you on our communication the coordinates, but do not waste time. We do not have time for this as it is. The Covenant are probably already invading and moving in deeper. Get there as fast as you can."
"Heh, no problem," Brandon chuckled amusingly.
"Move out men!" The sergeant ordered.
Brandon, checking his weapon one last time, moved closer to Mark as the sergeant and the other two marines entered the Warthog. The last sight of them was driving up a ramp that leads out of the loading bay.
"Alright, since I guess I'm leader, we'll move inwards, follow me guys!" Mark shouted as he sprinted towards the narrower, dimly lit passage out of the bay. Aiming his weapon forth, turning on its flashlight, and positioning his finger in front of the trigger, Mark entered the tunnel, with Brandon and the other marine, Virgil, following close behind.

Hey, that's a good opening, I look forward to reading more of it!
Is the character Brandon based on yourself
Gonna move this to Fanwork as it's based on Halo.
