Effective attacks
Has anyone wondered why 1 attack is good against another? Like for example, why is grass good against rock? Why is ground good against rock?

Okay...
Uhh...yeah. Some of the type matchups seem really strange. When it comes to ground vs. rock I always imagined earthquake as the exemplary groung move...so earthquake splits rock? All rock types were part ground then...maybe it was to give them a powerful weapon against themselves? And grass > rock? Maybe someone saw moss growing in the cracks in a rock and got the wrong idea>.<
Another possibility is they felt they needed to balance out the types and these combinations made the most sense.

Yeah, and I barely see single rock type pokes. I only know one. Regirock. On topic now, I dunno why ground is good against fire.
For a add in I know why rock is good against flying. Cause people try to hit down birds with rocks. That's why lol. xD
