I don't think you need any certain pokemon to go there. I think it's just a matter of chance.

well iheard you need a specfis "mirage island sensitive" pokemon to get there to check go wit ur poke mn to the old man in pacfilg who caan see mirage island and he'll tell you where is it.

go to the hidden city made out of logs and go to the most southeren east house you can find and go in it. Talk to the guy looking out the window everyday till he says he can see something outside. He "turns" your first pokemon into the mirage island sensitive pokemon and you surf east till you get to a island. Go on it and you will find many wild Wynauts and a rare berry. (Like a Starf or something like that) (its not starf though) The Wynauts can be level 40+ so bring a strong pokemon if you want to catch one. I've been there, so i know what it is. Its pretty small though.
