Graphics are usually reffered to in video games. For a cartoon you would use the word illustrations.
How can you have too much detail? The more the better, in my opinion

wait a minute, its not a book, so its not called illustrations, right?

and for the too much deatil bit, normal kiddie cartoons are nice and simple plain line drawings, however anime are like 'adult cartoons' coz they show like alll the veins and stuff....

Illustration means drawing. What has a book got to do with it? Cartoons are illustrated, unless they are some of the new 3D cartoons, in which case you refer to them as graphics. But as PokÃƒÂ©mon is not 3D, you refer to it as illustration.

meh, i always fought illustratons means a still picture, not a moving one, and a book has illustrations, as they are still pictures
