I have heard of Missingno erasing peoples games and all, but their could be other reasons for games wiping. They occasionally just seem to delete themselves. I lost my first ever Red save that way I had just came back from a trade with my friend, turned Red on to look at my new Pokémon and found no "Continue" option on the main menu, I had to start all over again, I had a level 100 Charizard on it as well .

To answer the first post, Missingno is not a Pokégod. By definition, a Pokégod is a Pokémon on Red/Blue who's Pokédex number is over 150. So, Mew is also classified as a Pokégod, but he is the only Pokégod who is not a "glitch". Missingno, on the other hand, while it is a glitch, has a Pokédex number of 000, so it is not a Pokégod.
