Well back then in the first season I always thought when a pokeball feels something the pokemon inside it comes out. Like when Ash throws a pokeball on the ground the ground hit the button in the middle of it and releases the pokemon or when Ash throws the ball in the air, the pokeball feels a big gust of wind that thats it's cue to release the pokemon.

Once I started getting into the series when Misty caught phyduck and the constant popping out of the pokeball thing I started getting confused. So I think your theory is true and all.

I think Jesse has the same problem with wobbufet.

I think they call them so they can get their attention. Since they throw them and they eject before ground impact, I think that there is an accelerometer in the ball that when it hits a certain speed, it ejects the Pokémon. It appears that Psychic-types can override the functions of the PokéBall to eject themselves.

I see so its all about the force on the ball but also impact would help because when u catch a pokemon it bounces off and when in the air it opens and sucks up the pokemon or like phantom 4722 said that the pokemon can feel pressure or impact that thats the Q to be released? what do you think

While I was at Barns and noble I read in one of the comic books that The red part okn the pokeball is actually see through. I think the only reason why they didn't put that little feature in the show was because it was to hard and to confusing for the animators to do in 1999, but when the show was a hit they probably just sticked with the regually pokeball they used for the pilot.

So I think the pokemon can see when its time to come out when they get hit to the ground or get thrown to the air.

I think that when a Pokémon is caught, the accelerometer in an empty ball is triggered, then the ball scans for the nearest lifeform that has the same DNA structure, as the ball takes a small sample from the impact, and aims a quantum beam at it to convert it into energy and store it. I don't know how that would be possible if the top of the ball was transparent, but the balls in the comics could work differently, as simply having a shrink ray or something.

I highly doubt that the top would be transparent, cause it's red. The best way to describe the Pokeball is that it is fictional. Almost nothing makes sense in the world of Pokemon.

Well no. "Theorys" about Pokemon aren't fun but "Theories" are.
