So it’s Gym 7 now and on paper it looks like an easy Gym. Shame you don’t fight on paper, because now you’re in trouble. Fallen2grace has a very interesting Gym designed to test both your battling knowledge and stamina. Once you step into her arena, the door locks and the lights go out. Every ten seconds the lights will turn back on before going off 10 seconds later. Making your way through the Gym under these conditions isn’t easy, but getting to Fallen2grace is even harder. Inside the Gym there are 6 trainers, each with 1 Pokémon. One of them has an Eevee, another has a Flareon. There is a Jolteon trainer, a vaporeon trainer, a Leafeon trainer and a Glaceon trainer as well. Oh and did I mention you had to beat all the trainers before finding the Leader herself? Assuming you manage to make it to the leader, you’re in for a double battle
Umbreon and Espeon make an interesting combo, and you’re going to have to beat both of them somehow. Umbreon is more likely to go on the defensive , with Sand Attack lowering your accuracy and Confuse Ray making you Confused (although I would have thought that was obvious with the name of the move) it has Quick Attack in it’s move set should it need to attack, say if you knocked out Espeon for instance
Espeon is built more for attacking your Pokémon. Psybeam is a Psychic type move that could inflict Confusion, but Espeon won’t worry about that too much with Umbreon using Confuse Ray. Swift is an attack that will always hit regardless of accuracy, so it’s a very reliable move to use, pretty much guaranteeing a hit. Helping Hand’s only use in this battle is to boost the strength of Umbreon’s Quick Attack, allowing it to hit you harder.
Morning Sun and Moonlight are essentially the same move. Both will heal the Pokémon using it. This makes a tough battle longer, and a longer tough battle is a tougher battle. The interesting thing about both Morning Sun and Moonlight is that their effect increases during a certain time of the day. During the day, Morning Sun will heal Espeon more that it will at night, will the opposite is true for Moonlight on Umbreon. This brings a bit of a tactical decision on when you decide to challenge Fallen2grace, as which ever move heals more will mean that Pokémon has a better chance of staying in the battle longer. So do you fight at night, getting rid of the attack heavy Espeon first, or during the day where the Defensive powerhouse of Umbreon will be a bit easier to get rid of? That choice could ultimately be the deciding factor between winning the seventh badge or heading back to the Pokémon Center with all your Pokémon fainted.
