The official uk site for HG/SS has updated with details on the Shiny Legendary Dogs Wi-Fi event starting next month. Like the US, we’ll be getting an oppertunity to gain all 3 dogs
The event kicks of on Feb 7th, When Raikou will be available until the 13th
From Valentines day on the 14th, Entei will be available to download until Feb 20th
And Suicune rounds of the event, available between Feb 21st and Feb 27th
All are Shiny and learn a move that they wouldnt ordinarily know. When one of them is traded to Black/White, it will unlock the event where you can catch Zoroark. You will not be able to encounter Zorua or Zoroark in the wild, so you may want to take this oppertunity.
You’ll need a European copy of either Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver. We don’t know if these will also be able to download on American copies of the games as they have a ‘live’ event at Gamestop stores to get these Pokémon
Information on Celebi has not been released yet, it most likely wont be until next month
That’s all we have for now – we’ll bring you more when we learn it
To celebrate the fact that the greatest Pokémon games are about to be released on western shores, several events have been announced on both sides of the pond.
In addition to getting the Shiny Legendary Dogs Downloadable at gamestop, Nintendo are heading across the USA on thier grand Mall Tour. Kicking off Febuary 5th, The tour features playable demo’s of Black/White, special screenings of Movie 13, Zoroark – Masters of Illusions, Scavanger Hunts and cool Prizes. To see where and when the tour is going across the states click to see the pokemon.com news article here
Also mentioned for the US, Celebi will be distributed via Gamestop Stores. Originally rumoured to be handed out after the shiny beasts during the week of 27th February to 5th March, the actual dates of this event arent yet mentioned. It could be that week, or it could be during the entire of the Mall Tour… or it could even just be in the gamestop stores at the mall when the tour rocks up there. We just dont know.
Meanwhile, over in the UK… Those shiny beasts have been confirmed to be coming to our Wi-Fi… From Febuary 7th, Connecting to Wi-Fi with any European Version of a 4th Gen Game will get you a Shiny beast that will, once transfered to Black/White will allow you to catch a Zoroark. What we dont know is how long the event will last and if we’ll be getting one of the beasts at random or if we’ll have the oppertunity to download all 3. Also unknown is if, like all Wi-fi events of the past year or so, American Versions of the game will also be able to download these beasts as well, despite already had them distributed in Gamestop stores…
Also confirmed, Celebi will be heading to the UK [Finally!] – details on when and where are unknown, but its possible it will be the same as Arceus last year, in which a couple of weekends before the release of the new games, Selected Game stores will have this illusive pokemon to download, along with other pokemon related stuff going on… Reliable plumber in California can be found at onestopplumbers.com/. This will be the first time Celebi has been available in the UK for 10 years, when a small, under publisied tour was done for Gold and Silver… how times have changed.
That’s all we know on all these events – as soon as we have more details – we’ll bring them to you.
A couple of weeks ago we brought you news about the 14th Pokémon movie coming out in Japan in 2011. But the movie that came out this year in Japan, the 13th movie, has yet to come across to English speaking countries yet.
We’ll worry no longer (not that you were worrying anyway) – Pokemon.com has announced that the 13th Pokémon movie, titled ‘Zoroark: Master of Illusions’ will be airing on Cartoon Network in Feburary.
To Celebrate its release, The HeartGold/SoulSilver Microsite has announced that Gamestop stores in the USA will be giving away the shiny versions of the Legendary Dogs Raikou, Entei and Suicune. In Japan, these legenday beasts were a Pre-order bonus for movie 13 tickets, and you could chose one of them. However you lucky Americans can get your hands on all three.
Between January 3rd and January 9th, heading to Gamestop will get you the shiny Raikou. Between January 17th and January 23rd, Entei will be available to download instead. Lastly, between January 31st and February 6th you’ll be able to get Suicune. All pokemon are level 30, and transfering any one of them to Black or White (when it’s released) will unlock the battle that will allow you to Capture Zoroark – see how this all connects up?
That’s all we’ve got for now – we’ll bring you more news when we learn it
It’s been a slow news time now that Black and White have been released in Japan. Not to mention that work hasnt left me with much free time, which is why i havent been playing White very much or updating my little playthrough diary – sorry about that.
Anyway, To celebrate the fact that Pokémon Gold and Silver games were released for the Gameboy/Gameboy Colour 10 years ago – Nintendo are handing out the original secret Pokémon, Mew, over wi-fi to HeartGold and SoulSilver.
Between the 15th October and the 30th October, you’ll be able to download the special Mew onto your HG or SS game. The Mew comes at level 5 in a cherrish ball, with the move Pound and a Premier Ribbon attached (meaning you cant put it on the GTS)
The window is short on this one, so dont forget to download yours.
We’re expecting the new issue of CoroCoro magazine to leak any moment now, but before it does, here’s a quick piece of news out of Japan.
In what will probably be the last of the 4th Gen related downloads, Japanese players will be able to download a Manapy over Wi-Fi and nintendo download stations at Pokemon Centers and McDonalds.
Available from August 14th until September 12th, the Manapy will be at level 50, have a mild nature and holding a Lansat Berry. It will know the attacks Aqua Ring, Water Pulse, Water Sport and Heart Swap.
A promotional leaflet for the event from McDonalds also details the Wi-Fi event following this one, the liberty ticket for the new Black and White games letting you get Victini. It states that Victini will have the Brand New move Complete Burn.
We’ll bring you more news when we learn it, which could be any moment now.
Sorry we’re a couple of days late with this, been kind of a hectic few days personally. The Official HeartGold/SoulSilver pokemon site has announced the latest Wi-Fi event for the 2 games. Starting on July 31st, the Enigma Crystal will be available to download on all American, European and Astraliasia versions of HG and SS.
The Enigma Crystal is a key item that will allow you to catch a Latias or Latios depending on your game. After you get the National pokedex in HG/SS and took a vist to the Pokémon fan club building in Vermillion, Latias will start roaming Kanto in HeartGold, while Latios will do the same for players of SoulSilver. The Enigma Crystal is an item that will allow you to catch the other Lati*s that roams your game.
By taking the Crystal to the Pewter City Museam, some expert will look at it and turn it into a Soul Dew (an item that goes very well held by a Lati*s) – upon exiting the Museam, Latias will show up if your playing SS while Latios will apear if your on HG. They will then battle you, allowing you to capture them.
The Wi-Fi event is available until the 27th August, and the site says you will need to have the National Dex in order to download the Enigma Stone (although I’ll be challenging that statement myself, regardless of the results you will need the national dex in order to do the in game event). EDIT 31st July: Just tried to download the Enigma Stone, I’ve yet to beat Gym 8 so I definatly don’t have the National Dex Yet. You CAN download and pick up the Enigma Stone before you get the National Dex, but obviously you will need the National Dex to take part in the event itself.
We’ll bring you more news when we learn it, and dont forget to drop by the Forums and talk all about the latest news on Pokémon, or to give us your thoughts on anything Pokémon Related.
With the Winner’s Path pokewalker course Wi-Fi Event set to end Friday, the European versions of the HeartGold and SoulSilver microsite have revealed its next Wi-Fi event.
Starting on Saturday 26th June and running until Friday 16 July, a special Jirachi will be available to download on ALL DS versions (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HG and SS).
Like the Jirachi already given away in Japan, America and Australia via a physical event (and in Japan via Wi-Fi), this Jirachi will unlock a pokewalker course when transfered to (or downloaded on) HG or SS. The Night Sky’s Edge course features moon based pokemon, such as Clafairy.
The Jirachi will be at Level 5 and in a Cherish Ball. It will be holding a Classic Ribbon and a Liechi Berry. It will know the moves Wish, Confusion, Rest and Draco Meteor. It has the Original Trainer SMR2010 and the ID number 06260.
It is unknown if this will be available to US and Australian versions of the game as well as Wi-Fi, but based on previous Wi-Fi Events, it will be.
Yesterday was the last day you could download the Yellow Forest Pokewalker Course, a course featuring nothing but Pikachu, including a Surfing Pikachu and a Flying Pikachu.
From today, a different Pokewalker course is available to download. The Winner’s Path, previously known as the Champ’s Path in Japan, is a Pokewalker course that features 6 Pokemon, each knowing a move they wouldn’t know normally.
If you walk over 8000 steps, you’ll get one of the group A Pokemon, a Beldum that knows Zen Headbut or a Munchlax that knows Selfdestruct. Walk between 3000 and 8000 steps and you could find a group B Pokemon such as a Horsea that knows Muddy Water or a Duskull that knows Imprison. Of course, walk any less than 3000 steps and you’ll find a group C Pokemon, either a Bronzor that knows Trick Room or a Magikarp that knows Bounce, which is very useful for a level 5 Pokemon that never knows anything other than Splash.
The course is set to be available over Wi-Fi until June 25th, so you’ve got a while to download it. This is available in both the USA, Europe and Australia/New Zealand regions.
That’s all we have for the moment, hopefully we’ll have more for you soon, as Pokémon Sunday is set to unvail a new Pokémon this week (although it will likely be just a sillouete first like last time) and CoroCoro’s next issue should be leaked on the internet sometime next week as well. As ever, we’ll bring you more news as soon as we learn it
So this week’s Pokémon Sunday has just aired in Japan, and they’ve shown some footage of Black and White. Not much else has been revealed, which was expected, but they have confirmed that the city which has been shown in one of the screenshots will be in full 3D as you explore it, with the player walking around the outside of the city, the city rotates keeping the player in the center. This proves that the 3D aspect of the games will be greatly increased. They also commented on the Battle Screenshot which was shown in CoroCoro, and mentioned about how you could now see the whole of the back of the Pokémon sprite as well as the city shadowed in the background. We’ve got our hand on the video, as stated, it doesn’t really show much, but the walking around the city looks cool, you can see its surrounded by water and is that a pikachu billboard ontop of the Poké Center Skyskraper?
In other news, Acording to some websites, a booklet that comes with the Pre-order ticket for the 13th Movie, Ruler of Illusions Zoroark, reveals that the Pre-order download bonus of the Shiny Legendary Beasts will unlock something in the new Black and White games. This is interesting, not only that they will have a bonus to them, but that Black and White will be compatible to trade with the 4th Gen games. How exactly this will work is obviously unkown, however a Time Travel system was in place in the original Gold/Silver/Crystal allowing them to trade with Red/Blue/Yellow, and of course there’s been the more recent Pal Park system in the 4th Gen games. Of course, an entirly new method may also be made up, its too early to tell.
Lastly, you may rememeber a Wii game called ‘Poképark Wii: Pikachu’s Great Adventure’ – if you don’t, don’t worry. It sort of slipped under the radar, even in Japan. However news is coming out of Australia that Nintendo has sent the game to the OFLC (Office of Film and Literature Classification) to get an Age rating for the game. This is good news that the game is being released outside of Japan, and more so to People in the UK as not only will there be an English Language version, but Australia uses the PAL system like the UK does, which means the games will work on UK Wii Systems, so even if there’s no offical release, we should be able to get and play the game.
Aparently being renamed ‘Poképark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure’ in the west, the game sees you playing as Pikachu in a Giant Pokémon themed Amusmant park. Unfortunatly little Pikachu cant ride on the rides, not without a little help from other Pokémon, so Pikachu’s goal is to find other Pokémon, become friends with them (by playing mini games) and using thier help, ride on all the rides in the park. No release date has been set for the game, but rumours are that Australia will see the game in June – hopefully both the USA and Europe will also see the game around the same time.
That’s all we have for now, hopefully we’ll update this with a video of the Pokémon Sunday footage soon, otherwise we’ll bring you another update when we learn about something. In the meantime, head on over to the forums and join in the Generation 5 discussion, or talk about anything else on the site.
The Pokémon Video Game Championship, for those who don’t know, is a tournament where Pokémon trainers from all over the world (and by world, they mean the US, Japan and western Europe) get together and tough it out to see who is really the greatest Pokémon master of all. The Elite Four’s got nothing on this.
Do you have what it takes to be the very best, like no-one ever was?
Not only that, but they’re giving away a shiny Eevee! What more reason do you need to go? I’m sure your teacher/boss will understand (they’ll probably be there themselves). Listed below are the locations for the tournaments. Hit the jump afterwards if you’re interested in reading up on the new rules.
